Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Corporate Legal Advisor to operate from our global headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ. This role will be primarily responsible for overseeing the legal matters of Walton Global Holdings, LLC and ensuring that our operations align with applicable laws while upholding ethical standards and recognizing legal implications and risks.

The Corporate Legal Advisor will provide high-quality legal counsel regarding U.S. laws to Walton and its affiliates, assisting with various business and legal matters as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering a comprehensive range of legal services and guidance to Walton Global Holdings, LLC.
  • Collaborating with the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with the executive management team, senior management, and external legal advisors.
  • Reviewing, drafting, and advising on various agreements, contracts, legal documents, and corporate governance materials.
  • Providing research and legal assistance on a broad spectrum of issues, particularly in real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, title, zoning, entitlements, finance, management, and litigation.
  • Assisting with compliance and corporate governance matters, offering recommendations, and coordinating with the global legal operations of Walton.
  • Staying updated on industry regulations and changes in real estate law, identifying legal and business risks, and developing strategies to mitigate those risks while balancing legal and business objectives.
  • Supporting departmental management and developing systems and protocols for effective legal operations.
  • Communicating with external legal professionals as necessary.
  • Managing transactional projects to enhance efficiency and accessibility for the executive management team and operational staff.
  • Ensuring adherence to deadlines and critical dates in various transactional documents while managing communications with relevant personnel.
  • Performing additional duties typical of a senior legal counsel in a similarly structured organization, as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality in handling sensitive legal matters.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in a State Bar.
  • A minimum of 5 years of substantial legal experience, particularly in real estate, with a blend of law firm and corporate in-house experience being advantageous.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability to evolving departmental needs.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills to address complex issues while effectively assessing legal matters and associated risks.
