Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Customer Service Specialist to join our team at A.P.R., Inc. (AlphaProTemps). This role is essential in ensuring that patients receive the highest level of service and support throughout their healthcare journey.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a related field is preferred.

Essential Skills and Knowledge
  • Understanding: A solid grasp of patient access processes, financial counseling, insurance protocols, and medical terminology is crucial. Familiarity with EMTALA and Consent Laws is also necessary.
  • Core Skills: Exceptional time management, communication, and active listening abilities are required. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in navigating multiple computer systems efficiently. Attention to detail, strong decision-making, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the capacity to manage confidential information responsibly.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills focused on data accuracy, customer service excellence, and adherence to productivity benchmarks are expected.
Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Interaction: Welcome patients warmly, confirm demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance details, and accurately input data into registration systems.
  • Order Management: Collect and process signed orders from physicians efficiently.
  • Insurance Coordination: Perform eligibility checks and benefit verifications, calculate patient liabilities, and facilitate payment collections.
  • Financial Guidance: Refer cases to financial counseling services when appropriate.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and confidentiality standards, including EMTALA and Consent Laws.
  • Data Oversight: Maintain precise records and manage data across various computer systems, including patient registration, document imaging, and payment processing.
