Job Overview

Position Title: Cyber Defense Mission Analyst

As a Cyber Defense Mission Analyst, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations and efficiency of security-related initiatives. Your responsibilities will include evaluating the financial implications of potential threats and crafting innovative solutions to intricate challenges, leveraging advanced consulting skills and extensive technical knowledge.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into security incidents, encompassing malware examination, forensic analysis, and threat intelligence evaluation.
  • Work collaboratively with diverse teams to design and execute proactive strategies aimed at preventing cyber threats and unauthorized access.
  • Create and sustain detailed threat models, risk evaluations, and incident response strategies.
  • Remain informed about emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to enhance our cyber defense capabilities continuously.
  • Offer expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders on cybersecurity issues, including risk management, compliance obligations, and security awareness training.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security controls, policies, and procedures to effectively mitigate cyber risks.
  • Contribute to the improvement of security tools and technologies to automate threat detection and response workflows.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of professional experience in professional services, federal government, or federal consulting.
  • 6+ years of experience in the cybersecurity or information assurance domain, with a solid understanding of the cybersecurity program within the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • 4+ years of experience supporting DoD-level cybersecurity service provider (CSSP) teams.
  • 4+ years of experience in drafting executive or formal senior-level correspondence and materials to support decision-making and strategic development.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical writing at the organizational level, including the drafting of technical policies and strategies.

Educational Background:

  • BA or BS degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • CISSP or CISM Certification is mandatory.

Additional Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience in facilitating meetings, including working groups and conferences, along with associated pre- and post-meeting activities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Familiarity with NIST 800 series publications.
  • Understanding of Joint instructions and manuals.

Security Clearance: Top Secret (TS) Clearance is required.
