Position Overview
The Loudoun County Department of Information Technology (DIT) is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a temporary Asset Management & Database Analyst. This role is essential for developing a comprehensive asset management inventory system/database.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Chief Information Security Officer and the Assistant Director of Infrastructure to implement automated tools and create a detailed inventory of all County technical assets. Your contributions will be crucial in ensuring precise record-keeping, enhancing asset utilization, and analyzing the financial aspects related to our asset portfolio. Utilizing ServiceNow, you will identify and catalog enterprise-wide assets, including PCs, iPhones, iPads, accessories, routers, switches, and other network devices. Your efforts will help streamline operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote cost-efficiency across all asset categories. The primary focus will be on populating and auditing devices to support management and cybersecurity awareness, as well as developing financial models to aid in the lifecycle management of assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze procurement data, licensing information, end-of-life (EOL) and end-of-support (EOS) data, contract details, warranty information, and automated scanning tool results.
- Review and assess ServiceNow incidents and requests related to hardware assets.
- Conduct data validation across all systems of record.
- Provide analytical insights to assist with replacement schedules for PCs, iPhones, and iPads.
- Monitor asset changes throughout their lifecycle.
- Notify stakeholders of relevant changes.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies to uphold the integrity of software asset data.
- Identify and report potential issues with County asset tracking tools.
- Document and report on issues with all supporting systems and inputs.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to Hardware Asset Management programs and processes.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma and four (4) years of experience in Cyber Security or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
