Position Title: Cyber Defense Mission Analyst

As a Cyber Defense Mission Analyst, you will oversee the daily functions and efficiency of security-related initiatives and programs. Your role will involve evaluating the financial implications of potential threats and crafting innovative solutions to intricate challenges through advanced consulting skills and substantial technical knowledge.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into security breaches, encompassing malware examination, forensic analysis, and threat intelligence evaluation.
  • Work collaboratively with diverse teams to design and execute proactive strategies aimed at thwarting cyber threats and unauthorized access.
  • Create and sustain detailed threat models, risk evaluations, and incident response strategies.
  • Remain informed about emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to enhance our cyber defense mechanisms.
  • Offer expertise and direction to internal stakeholders regarding cybersecurity issues, including risk management, compliance obligations, and security awareness initiatives.
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of security controls, policies, and procedures to effectively reduce cyber risks.
  • Contribute to the improvement of security tools and technologies to automate threat detection and response workflows.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of professional experience in professional services, Federal government, or Federal consulting.
  • 6+ years of experience in the cybersecurity or information assurance domain, demonstrating an operational understanding of the cybersecurity framework within the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • 4+ years of experience supporting DoD-level cybersecurity service provider (CSSP) teams.
  • 4+ years of experience in drafting executive or formal senior-level communications and materials to aid decision-making and strategy formulation.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical writing at the organizational level, including the development of technical policies and strategies.

Educational Background:

  • BA or BS degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • CISSP or CISM Certification is mandatory.

Additional Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience in facilitating meetings, including working groups and conferences, along with related pre and post-meeting tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Familiarity with NIST 800 series publications.
  • Understanding of Joint instructions and manuals.

Security Clearance: Top Secret (TS) Clearance is required.
