• Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate budgeting and timelines.

• Stay updated on industry trends, building regulations, and compliance standards.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Commercial Plumbing Estimator.

• Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and construction methodologies.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents.

• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

• Familiarity with estimation software and tools.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

• A professional certification or degree in plumbing, construction management, or a related field is preferred.

Compensation: $20 - $25 hourly based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Calculate cost factors and prepare estimates for management use, including planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
  • Prepare material lists for fabrication and procurement of necessary materials for plumbing installations.
  • Review vendor quotes against bid documents to ensure comprehensive scope coverage.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of bid documents to solicit accurate quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Participate in Pre-Bid Surveys to incorporate site conditions into estimates.
  • Perform detailed take-offs and generate reports using estimation software.
  • Identify and submit RFI questions promptly.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and Project Managers to discuss estimates and resolve any issues.
  • Gather remaining estimating price data, including management and general conditions costs.
  • Conduct breakout, alternate, and value engineering pricing as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing proposal scope letters to ensure accurate inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications.
  • Provide project turnover information post-award.
  • Assist in tracking bid status to obtain bid results.
  • Participate in bid review meetings with prime/general contractors.
  • Select inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications for proposal scope letters.
  • Provide project turnover information after award and participate in turnover meetings.
  • Assist in tracking bid status to obtain bid results.
  • Determine actual project scope and costs.
  • Establish job schedules and timelines.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field, or a High School Diploma with 3 years of estimating experience, or a High School Diploma with 5 years of trade-related experience.
  • Knowledge of plumbing codes and systems.
  • Familiarity with modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Proficient in Estimating Software, Excel, Word, and other relevant computer applications.
  • Strong command of English grammar and usage.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Capability to meet deadlines and organize work efficiently.
  • Ability to secure work at a reasonable profit margin.
  • Consistent attention to detail.
  • Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License.
