Position Overview:

The Vice President for Student Engagement and Inclusion at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) is a pivotal role reporting directly to the Senior Vice President for Student Affairs. This position is integral to the Student Affairs Leadership Team (SALT) and oversees a committed team dedicated to enhancing student engagement and fostering a sense of belonging.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership of Student Services: The incumbent will guide a diverse team across various units, including Ethnic and Intercultural Services, Student Employment Services, and Guardian Scholars, ensuring the implementation of best practices that support student progression towards their educational aspirations.

Strategic Initiative Development: Collaborating with campus partners and student organizations, the Vice President will design and execute initiatives aimed at enriching the student experience while promoting inclusivity and success. This includes evaluating high-impact practices and retention strategies to enhance student outcomes.

Advocacy for Inclusivity: In alignment with LMU's Jesuit values, the Vice President will champion holistic education and service, actively engaging with students to build meaningful relationships and foster community dialogue across diverse backgrounds.

Operational Management: The role includes overseeing the budget, managing resources effectively, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Vice President will also supervise staff, ensuring a cohesive approach to intersectional programming and student services.

Community Relations: The Vice President will serve as a key representative for the division, addressing student-related issues and advocating for historically marginalized populations. This involves collaboration with various committees and community outreach to promote LMU's mission.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's Degree in Higher Education or a related field, along with a minimum of seven years of progressive leadership experience in student affairs. Strong supervisory skills, a deep understanding of diversity and inclusion practices, and exemplary communication abilities are essential for success in this role.

Compensation:

The expected salary range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000, commensurate with education and experience.
