Job Description:
Penn Foster Inc. is seeking a dynamic Senior Vice President of Applied Science to lead the Science, Data Science, and Educational Management teams. This pivotal role involves guiding a group of applied scientists engaged in diverse initiatives to support the organization's educational product development and growth strategies. The SVP will be instrumental in balancing research and development with current educational offerings and addressing immediate needs. This position allows for remote work with occasional travel as the organization expands its reach.

Roles/Responsibilities:
The Senior Vice President of Applied Science will work closely with executive leadership to oversee and mentor the Science, Data Science, and Educational Management teams. Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing models for educational outcomes and responses to various interventions
  • Evaluating data integrity from multiple sources
  • Converting data into scalable code for modeling and visualization applications
  • Creating tools and systems for educational use in collaboration with other departments
  • Securing funding for educational initiatives
  • Collaborating with the Policy team to integrate scientific insights into educational strategies
  • Partnering with the non-profit sector to manage educational data repositories
  • Supporting the organization's growth efforts to meet global educational needs
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ideal candidate should possess:
  • A robust background in applied science with a Ph.D.
  • Experience in senior management or executive roles
  • Experience in a dynamic or fast-paced educational environment
  • Expertise in recruiting and managing diverse scientific teams
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and educational modeling
  • Knowledge of educational programs and relevant regulations
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with project management and relevant software tools
Duty Requirements:
This is a full-time remote position requiring working hours that align with the US Pacific time zone and occasional travel.

Compensation:
$200k - $250k annually based on experience
