Position Overview

The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in the operational activities of Rebuilding Together, focusing on assisting underprivileged homeowners while fostering relationships with program advocates, including volunteers, corporate partners, municipal agencies, and various nonprofit organizations. This role provides a vibrant work atmosphere where the Community Engagement Coordinator will contribute to the organization's mission by achieving specific goals through homeowner outreach, mobilizing community volunteers, organizing project logistics, and compiling program metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the application process for homeowners seeking assistance
  • Collaborate with team members to assign volunteer groups to suitable rebuilding initiatives
  • Support the management of volunteer intake for programs/projects
  • Coordinate the procurement and delivery of essential project materials
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive record-keeping system for program services
  • Design and implement training sessions, resources, and presentations focused on healthy housing
  • Engage with community organizations, neighborhood groups, and local leaders
  • Assist the programs team in developing a comprehensive outreach strategy for homeowners and volunteers

Qualifications

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or relevant work or volunteer experience
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and capacity to build connections
  • Experience working with diverse clients, volunteers, and team members
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications
  • Quick learner with a positive, growth-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong sense of individual and collective responsibility

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with construction techniques, home repair, and housing challenges
  • Comfortable presenting and speaking in front of large audiences
  • Experience in volunteer service
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively on team projects
  • Experience with database management or data analysis tools

Compensation and Benefits:
