Position Overview:

Dominican University New York is seeking applications for two positions as Graduate Engagement Coordinators (GEC) within the Office of Student Engagement. The GEC will be instrumental in managing the Student Engagement Lounge, assisting in the organization and implementation of various campus events and initiatives, and providing crucial administrative support within the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Student Engagement Lounge and ensure a welcoming environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Student Engagement to plan and execute diverse campus programs and events.
  • Provide essential administrative assistance and support to the Office of Student Engagement.
  • Participate in the on-call Residence Life duty rotation and respond to campus incidents outside of regular hours.

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree and hold a valid driver's license to operate University vehicles. The ideal candidate will exhibit flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative spirit. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a commitment to engaging with a diverse student body. The ability to work independently on multiple tasks and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.) are required. Experience in planning and executing student events and campus programming is preferred but not mandatory.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be in the process of being accepted or already enrolled in one of the graduate programs at Dominican University New York. It is recommended that candidates seek acceptance into the MS-OLC program, designed for working professionals and offered entirely online. However, enrollment in any graduate program at DUNY qualifies candidates for this position. Successful candidates must maintain their status as matriculated graduate students at Dominican University New York.
