Position Overview:

The Graduate Assistant for Student Support will engage in various responsibilities aimed at delivering professional assistance to students and clients associated with the university. This role is integral to fostering a secure and respectful campus atmosphere through collaborative initiatives.

Program Summary:

The Student Support Program is committed to promoting a safe and respectful educational environment by implementing comprehensive prevention strategies and providing advocacy and support services to students impacted by violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the reception area, welcoming students, responding to inquiries, and organizing documentation.
  • Support in assessing student needs and connecting them with appropriate resources.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of educational presentations and activities.
  • Help maintain and enhance the program's social media presence.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Eligible candidates must be enrolled as full-time graduate students at the university. The following skills and experiences are essential:

  • Ability to uphold confidentiality and respect for individual privacy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective decision-making and time-management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to collaborate within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and social media management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Students pursuing degrees in relevant fields such as Public Relations, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Communication Studies, or Sociology are encouraged to apply. Experience in public speaking, presentations, or advocacy training is highly valued.
