The Graduate Assistant (GA) will play a crucial role in supporting the First-Year Experience initiative at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO). This initiative is designed to assess and enhance the effectiveness of first-year transition courses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of documentation and perform various administrative tasks as required.
- Support training programs for mentors and campus instructors.
- Help organize events for the First-Year Network.
- Contribute to branding efforts and the development of promotional materials.
- Oversee the maintenance and updates of the project website.
This position demands a commitment of 20 hours per week in an in-person capacity.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a graduate degree program at UNO and maintain good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.00.
- Applicants should be at least 18 years old.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, along with a willingness to learn new software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging professionally with diverse individuals.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Experience in website development and management.
- Familiarity with document management systems and shared drives.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Work Environment:
The work setting is primarily indoors, with a low to moderate noise level. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
Salary:
Compensation is set at $24,498 per year for a 12-month assistantship.
