Position Overview:

The Rome Floyd Chamber is seeking applications for the role of Assistant Clinical Professor, Principal Faculty for its Physician Assistant Program. This is a unique opportunity for dynamic and collaborative candidates who are passionate about academic excellence. The principal faculty will primarily engage in educational activities while ensuring compliance with relevant accreditation standards and fulfilling additional responsibilities as designated by the Program Director.

Program Development:

The Chamber is in the process of establishing a high-quality PA Program with the necessary resources to support exceptional faculty and facilities. The program aims to provide comprehensive didactic and clinical training while incorporating distinctive elements that enhance the impact of our graduates in local communities.

Facilities and Resources:

To bolster the PA program, the Chamber is developing a state-of-the-art health sciences facility that will include offices, shared classrooms, laboratories, and simulation spaces. This facility will also accommodate the Nursing program and is designed to support future growth.

Our vision is to cultivate a premier program that embodies the ethos of service and community engagement. The PA Program at the Rome Floyd Chamber will focus on training healthcare professionals who are dedicated to serving patients, particularly those in underserved areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full-time, 12-month position with academic and administrative duties.
  • Foster strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Build collaborative relationships with colleagues, leadership, and staff.
  • Support the Program Director in various academic tasks, including:
    • Curriculum design, assessment, and revision.
    • Participation in program self-assessment and accreditation processes.
    • Instruction and assessment in classroom and laboratory settings.
    • Academic advising and student support.
    • Engagement in program admissions and inter-professional education.
  • Promote the mission and values of the Chamber in all professional activities.
  • Engage in continuing education opportunities relevant to job responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program with a master's degree or equivalent qualifications.
  • Current NCCPA Certification or board certification if a physician or nurse practitioner.
  • Unrestricted medical license in any state and eligibility in Georgia.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience as a practicing clinician/provider.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in PA education (as principal faculty, adjuncts, or preceptors).
  • Familiarity with program organization, administration, and accreditation standards.
  • A doctoral degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
