Position Overview:
The Graduate Assistant (GA) will engage in a commitment of 20 hours per week, benefiting from up to 24 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 9 for the fall semester, 9 for the spring semester, and 6 for the summer session.
Department Overview:
The Academic Achievement Center (AAC) serves as the primary resource for student academic support at Bridgewater State University. This center encompasses four key departments: Academic Advising, Learning Assistance, Student Accessibility Services, and Testing Services. Our Testing Services department facilitates a variety of examinations, including undergraduate, graduate, professional licensure, placement, and remotely proctored assessments throughout the year. We are dedicated to fostering student success, retention, and promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Engage with students and test candidates, contributing to a welcoming and customer-focused testing environment.
- Assist in the scheduling and administration of all examinations.
- Address all testing-related inquiries through various communication channels.
- Monitor test candidates and examination rooms during assessments, documenting and reporting any irregularities or incidents of academic dishonesty.
- Become a certified proctor for various examinations, including the MTEL licensure exam for educators, GRE for graduate candidates, CLEP for college credit, placement tests, and more.
- Collaborate with departments within the Academic Achievement Center, such as the Disability Resources Office and Tutoring Central.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing student success.
- Assist in administering large group placements for incoming first-year students, gaining insights into their unique needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Enrollment in a Graduate Degree Program at Bridgewater State University.
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to effectively working with diverse communities.
- Exhibit energy, enthusiasm, self-direction, patience, and strong communication skills with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Capability to observe and monitor test-takers during assessments, both in-person and through digital monitoring systems.

Compensation: $15 per hour
