Job Overview

Position Summary: Surge Staffing is in search of a meticulous and systematic HR Benefits Administrator to enhance our Human Resources department. The HR Benefits Administrator will take charge of managing employee benefits programs, ensuring adherence to policies, and overseeing benefit enrollments, modifications, and terminations. This position necessitates a solid grasp of benefits regulations, outstanding communication abilities, and the capacity to handle confidential information responsibly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee employee benefits programs encompassing medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement options.
  • Guarantee prompt and precise processing of benefit enrollments, modifications, and terminations.
  • Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries concerning benefits coverage, eligibility, and claims.
  • Collaborate with insurance providers and brokers to negotiate advantageous benefit plans and address any issues.
  • Coordinate open enrollment initiatives and assist employees throughout the enrollment phase.
  • Maintain precise benefits records within the HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and ensure data accuracy.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations pertinent to benefits administration (e.g., ACA, HIPAA).
  • Support the creation and dissemination of benefits information to employees.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to benefits billing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Conduct benefits orientations for new employees and provide ongoing education regarding their benefits options.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in HR benefits administration or a comparable role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employee benefits programs and relevant regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accuracy in a dynamic environment.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in an HR environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with ADP software is a plus.
  • Understanding of federal HR laws, Unemployment, and FMLA.
