This position demands a comprehensive understanding of benefits legislation, superior communication abilities, and the capacity to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee employee benefits programs, which encompass medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
- Guarantee prompt and precise processing of benefit enrollments, modifications, and terminations.
- Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries concerning benefits coverage, eligibility, and claims processing.
- Collaborate with insurance providers and brokers to secure competitive benefit packages and address any issues.
- Organize open enrollment events and assist employees throughout the enrollment process.
- Maintain accurate benefits records within the HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and ensure data accuracy.
- Monitor compliance with federal and state regulations pertinent to benefits administration (e.g., ACA, HIPAA).
- Support the development and dissemination of benefits information to employees.
- Manage administrative tasks related to benefits billing, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Conduct benefits orientations for new employees and provide ongoing education regarding benefits options.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in HR benefits administration or a comparable role.
- In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs and relevant regulations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accuracy in a dynamic environment.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to manage confidential information with care and integrity.
- Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is advantageous.
- Experience in HR roles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with ADP software is a plus.
- Understanding of federal HR laws, Unemployment, and FMLA.
