Construction Project Supervisor

Position Overview:
The Superintendent will report directly to the General Superintendent and will be responsible for managing milling and paving operations. This role involves overseeing projects primarily executed during nighttime hours, ensuring that all work aligns with our standards for production, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engagement: Collaborate with senior management and gather comprehensive project details.
- Site Preparation: Conduct thorough assessments of work sites prior to mobilization.
- Resource Management: Determine staffing and equipment needs and coordinate with dispatch accordingly.
- Material Procurement: Order and track construction materials to ensure adherence to budgeted quantities.
- Task Delegation: Clearly assign daily responsibilities to field personnel and monitor their progress.
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with Quality Control to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Safety Leadership: Conduct safety meetings and promote a culture of safety in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients and inspectors to ensure project satisfaction.
- Time Management: Review and verify employee time sheets for accuracy.
- Budget Compliance: Ensure all projects are completed within financial constraints.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes and specifications.
- Ability to interpret plans and specifications effectively.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Proficient in job costing and decision-making in fast-paced environments.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with email and spreadsheets.
Additional Information:
This role may require some travel, primarily within the Massachusetts region, with the possibility of overnight stays. The Superintendent will need to be adaptable to a dynamic work environment, often working night shifts on interstate projects.
