We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent to join our team at Peckham Industries. As a key member of our construction operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of milling and paving projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the work of field employees, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Manage the ordering and tracking of construction materials, including liquid calcium chloride, Portland cement, and liquid asphalt.
- Conduct thorough site investigations to ensure preparedness and identify potential risks.
- Assign daily tasks to field employees and supervise their progress, ensuring that projects are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
- Engage with Quality Control staff to ensure that work products meet specifications.
- Conduct site safety meetings with field personnel, promoting a safety-oriented culture and operating within all applicable OSHA and company safety standards.
- Engage with customers' representatives and inspectors to execute projects that meet their requirements.
- Review employee time sheets for accuracy and ensure that projects are completed within budget constraints.
- 5+ years of relevant construction experience.
- Extensive knowledge of construction operations and specifications.
- Ability to read plans and specifications.
- Excellent Leadership skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent Communication and Collaborative Skills.
- Ability to Multi-Task.
- Thorough understanding of job cost.
- Ability to make quick and thoughtful decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic PC skills including email and spreadsheet applications.
This position will require the Superintendent to be highly mobile and work in a dynamic environment, depending on the time of year and operational workload. This position requires significant portions of the season to be worked at night on the interstate.
