Position Overview:

The Equipment Operator is a vital role within our unionized workforce, tasked with the operation of various machinery utilized in road, site, and highway construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Expert Operation: Skillfully operate heavy machinery of diverse sizes and weights, including Pavers, Shuttle Buggy's, Rollers, Graders, Rubber Tire Excavators, and additional equipment as required.

2. Provide assistance with maintenance and other physical tasks necessary on-site.

3. Safety First: Adhere to all mandated personal protective equipment protocols.

4. Follow established company and OSHA safety regulations, promptly reporting any issues to the Construction Manager.

5. Comply with daily procedures and protocols as outlined in job orientations and training sessions.

6. Maintenance Awareness: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned machinery, reporting defects or required repairs to the supervisor and ensuring equipment cleanliness.

7. Effective Communication: Engage with colleagues and supervisors in person and via two-way radios.

8. Dependable Attendance: Maintain a consistent and reliable attendance schedule.

Travel Requirements:

This role may necessitate travel to various project locations as dictated by business needs.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This position involves both indoor and outdoor work, sometimes in adverse weather conditions. It requires heavy lifting, including moving objects weighing up to 100 lbs or more. The role involves working near moving mechanical parts and loud machinery, necessitating the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, as well as lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motions.
