Construction Project Supervisor

Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the General Superintendent, the Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing milling and paving projects. This role entails managing interstate projects typically executed during nighttime hours. Key responsibilities include supervising field personnel, coordinating material orders, managing subcontractors, and liaising with clients and sales teams to ensure project completion aligns with our commitment to production, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engagement: Actively participate in initiatives supporting Senior Management. Collect comprehensive project details from Management and Sales Teams. Attend necessary pre-construction meetings.
- Preparation: Conduct thorough site evaluations prior to mobilization to ensure readiness.
- Staffing Coordination: Determine project-specific staffing and equipment needs, coordinating with Dispatch accordingly.
- Material Management: Order construction materials and monitor quantities to ensure compliance with budgeted amounts.
- Task Assignment: Clearly delegate daily responsibilities to field staff and oversee their progress.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with Quality Control personnel to ensure work meets specified standards.
- Safety Leadership: Lead site safety meetings and promote a culture focused on safety, adhering to all applicable OSHA and company safety regulations.
- Client Interaction: Engage with client representatives and inspectors to ensure satisfactory project execution.
- Time Management: Review employee time sheets for accuracy.
- Budget Compliance: Ensure all projects are completed within financial constraints.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience.
- In-depth knowledge of construction operations and specifications.
- Ability to interpret plans and specifications effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Comprehensive understanding of job costing.
- Capability to make prompt and informed decisions in a dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic proficiency in PC applications, including email and spreadsheets.
