Job Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Operator plays a critical role in our road construction operations, responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment used in construction, maintenance, and repair of roads, highways, and other infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment, including pavers, shuttle buggies, rollers, graders, and rubber tire excavators, to ensure efficient and safe construction processes.
  • Assist in maintenance and repair of equipment, as well as perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Protect yourself and others by wearing personal protective equipment and following company and OSHA safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Meet attendance and performance expectations, with a strong focus on dependability and consistency.

Requirements:

  • Two years of experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in a construction or road maintenance setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a strong emphasis on safety and equipment operation.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project locations as needed.

Work Environment:

This position requires working in a fast-paced construction environment, with exposure to varying weather conditions and physical demands. The ability to lift, bend, and move heavy objects is essential, as well as the ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
