Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent to oversee the execution of milling and paving projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising field employees, managing subcontractors, and coordinating with customers and sales personnel to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Oversight: Conduct thorough investigations of work sites prior to mobilization to ensure preparedness and identify potential risks.
  2. Staffing and Equipment Management: Determine project-specific staffing and equipment requirements and coordinate with dispatch to ensure optimal resource allocation.
  3. Material Management: Order construction materials and track quantities to verify that usage is in accordance with budgeted quantities.
  4. Quality Control: Engage with Quality Control staff to ensure work product meets specifications and industry standards.
  5. Safety Management: Conduct site safety meetings with field personnel and promote a safety-oriented culture to protect employees and the public.
  6. Customer Relations: Engage with customers' representatives and inspectors to execute projects that meet their needs and expectations.
  7. Administrative Tasks: Review employee time sheets for accuracy and complete all projects within budget constraints.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of relevant construction experience
  • Extensive knowledge of construction operations and specifications
  • Ability to read plans and specifications
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic PC skills, including email and spreadsheet applications
Work Environment

This position requires the Superintendent to be highly mobile and work in a dynamic environment, with significant portions of the season worked at night on the interstate. You will be part of a team that values safety, integrity, dedication, and efficiency, and is committed to delivering high-quality construction materials and services to our customers.
