Position Overview:

The Application Analyst plays a crucial role in the installation, design, configuration, training, and support of application systems. This position requires collaboration with subject matter experts to define system requirements and optimize application performance through the development of new features, testing, and implementation of vendor updates and system enhancements. The analyst will conduct technical and functional analysis, establish system requirements, and create logical data models while adhering to best practices for system build, maintenance, and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary resource for designing, building, testing, and activating the application database.
  • Support the development of new projects through system analysis, planning, and preparation.
  • Participate in project teams for new implementations and installations.
  • Assist other application staff and vendors with technical and process-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems involving integrated systems.
  • Test and validate software releases, upgrades, and changes before deployment to the production environment.
  • Analyze business processes to ensure optimal system configuration.
  • Document and maintain all necessary system design and build documentation.
  • Provide support to end users both on-site and remotely.
  • Contribute to the preparation of testing scripts and perform unit, system, and integrated testing tasks.
  • Log, track, analyze, and coordinate system changes, including software code implementations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 – 4 years of experience in the healthcare sector.
  • EPIC Certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire (if applicable).

Preferred:

  • At least five (5) years of experience in healthcare IT.
  • Two (2) years of experience specifically in healthcare IT.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification.

  • Works flexible shifts as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • May require extended hours of sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.
  • Flexibility to work beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
  • On-call availability may be necessary to address organizational needs.
  • Proficient in effective communication in person and through various technologies.
  • Capable of handling challenging situations with upset individuals.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks as required.
