Position Overview:

The Application Analyst plays a critical role in the implementation, configuration, training, and ongoing support of application systems. This position requires collaboration with subject matter experts to define system requirements and enhance application functionality. Key responsibilities include optimizing application performance through the development of new features, testing, and executing scheduled vendor updates and system enhancements, as well as resolving system issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, design, and configure application systems while providing expert guidance in the application domain.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to educate users on system capabilities and configurations.
  • Ensure compliance with change management protocols and maintain comprehensive documentation for all applications.
  • Conduct thorough testing for application updates and system modifications.
  • Communicate effectively with all relevant departments regarding application changes and enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in the healthcare sector.
  • EPIC Certification to be obtained within six months of hire (if applicable).

Preferred:

  • At least five years of experience in healthcare IT.
  • Two years of experience specifically in healthcare IT.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary resource for designing, building, testing, and activating the application database.
  • Support new project initiatives through system analysis and preparation.
  • Participate in implementation project teams.
  • Assist colleagues and vendors with technical and procedural challenges.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to integrated systems.
  • Verify software releases and changes prior to production deployment.
  • Analyze business processes to ensure optimal system configuration.
  • Document and maintain all necessary system design and build documentation.
  • Provide support to end users both on-site and remotely.
  • Contribute to the development of testing scripts and execute various testing tasks.
  • Log, track, and coordinate system changes, including software code implementations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed.
  • Availability for on-call duties as required.
  • Proficient in effective communication across various platforms.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
  • Capability to perform repetitive tasks as necessary.

Potential Exposures:

  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious materials.
  • Potential exposure to radiation in medical imaging environments.
  • Handling of various chemicals and medications used in healthcare.
