- Design and implement exterior fire protection systems tailored for residential, commercial, and industrial applications, while recognizing that design work will constitute a smaller portion of your overall responsibilities.
- Prepare engineering service proposals, including scopes of work and cost estimates, ensuring clear communication with clients to understand their specific needs.
- Assess properties for indicators of fire risk and develop conceptual solutions, making informed recommendations based on thorough analysis.
- Perform engineering calculations and create construction drawings and specifications to define fire suppression systems for new projects or modifications.
- Oversee project budgets and timelines, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to schedules.
- Provide technical leadership to junior staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to execute fire protection studies and analyses.
- Review and enhance preventive maintenance procedures for fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering, complemented by a minimum of ten years of relevant consulting experience.
- Possession of a Professional Engineering license in any US State, with the capability to obtain licensure in Montana through reciprocity.
- A clean driving record is essential.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proven expertise in designing and supervising the installation of fire protection systems, with a preference for experience in exterior fire protection.
- Strong capabilities in writing engineering proposals and preparing detailed scopes of work.
- Exceptional technical writing skills, with the ability to produce comprehensive reports and presentations.
- In-depth knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with clients and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
