Job Summary

This role provides critical support to the HR function, ensuring seamless coordination of projects and activities. The successful candidate will maintain accurate records, facilitate communication between employees, supervisors, and HR, and provide exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Kronos Human Resources/Payroll system, including employee status, work assignments, and data analysis.
  • Process staffing requests, including preparing paperwork, dispatch requests, and tracking results.
  • Collaborate with HR to arrange selection processes, such as scheduling interviews, contacting applicants, and tracking results.
  • Assist employees with timecard and timekeeping instructions, weekly paycheck distribution, and attendance records.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including administering first-day activities and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Apply thorough understanding of collective bargaining agreements to respond to employee questions and ensure application of provisions and benefits.
  • Perform related administrative functions, such as answering inquiries, processing unemployment claims, and maintaining supplies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a Customer Service or Human Resources role, with demonstrated knowledge of office procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of Kronos Workforce Timekeeper, Human Resource, and Payroll modules preferred.
Work Environment

This role is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity. The work may occasionally require walking within the shipyard for administrative errands. The ability to operate a variety of office equipment and computer systems is required.
