Position Overview

Position Title: Human Resources Manager
Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000

Role Summary:

The Human Resources Manager will oversee the daily operations of a five-member HR team within our mission-driven health and human services non-profit organization, which employs over 2,500 individuals across Western Washington.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise HR personnel including HR Generalist, HR Assistant, and HR Clerk.
  • Manage daily HR operations and ongoing projects, ensuring timely and accurate task completion.
  • Enhance staff productivity through effective process improvements.
  • Establish and maintain HR department goals, objectives, and operational processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Union contract requirements and personnel policies, effectively communicating these to staff and supervisors.
  • Facilitate communication of organizational personnel policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with department supervisors to address personnel-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate personnel files and records in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Administer HRIS, ensuring accurate data entry and training HR staff on new processes.
  • Coordinate and present new employee orientation sessions.
  • Ensure HR compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including Washington State labor laws and various accreditation standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, conducting audits and reporting findings.
  • Monitor the employee grievance process.
  • Engage in health and safety committee activities, tracking the implementation of safety programs.
  • Coordinate the annual United Way giving campaign.
  • Represent the organization at relevant community HR events.
  • Review and recommend policies affecting HR operations and personnel management.
  • Attend key organizational events as a supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Proficient in using personal computers for essential HR functions.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory documents and manuals.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Competency in basic arithmetic and problem-solving.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and database management; SharePoint experience is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, health administration, social work, or a related field, with two years of HR experience or five years of HR experience required.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience is necessary.
  • CPR certification is highly preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.
  • A valid State Driver's License is required.
