Position Overview: Mid Cloud Security Engineer

Location: Various locations available

Relocation Assistance: Not applicable

Remote Work: Not permitted for this role

Security Clearance: DoD Secret required

Work Schedule: Day shift (Monday to Friday)

Travel Requirements: Up to 10% travel

Key Responsibilities:

The Mid Cloud Security Engineer plays a vital role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) through the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The responsibilities include:

  • Designing, implementing, and overseeing cloud security frameworks and technologies.
  • Possessing comprehensive knowledge of cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Establishing and enforcing cloud security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Monitoring security incidents and conducting forensic analysis as necessary.
  • Performing regular security evaluations and vulnerability assessments using SAST and DAST tools.
  • Collaborating with development and operations teams to integrate security best practices into DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Staying informed about emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and technological advancements.
  • Ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, NIST Framework, ISO).
  • Implementing and enforcing encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and other security measures.
  • Providing guidance and training on cloud security best practices to other teams.
  • Participating in security audits and risk assessments.
  • Maintaining documentation related to cloud security configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Attending engineering and architecture meetings as a technical expert in multiple IT domains related to Cloud and DevSecOps initiatives.
  • Executing modifications and upgrades as required.
  • Coordinating with other departments to resolve incidents related to systems and infrastructure.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

Candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience combinations:

  • High School Diploma (or GED) with 12 years of general experience
  • Associate's degree with 10 years of general experience
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of general experience
  • Master's degree with 6 years of general experience

Additionally, candidates must have:

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in software development, application integration, or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of experience in management or leadership roles.
  • A current DoD IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE Certification).
  • At least one commercially recognized Cloud certification.
  • An active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Desirable skills include:

  • Experience in systems administration/engineering with Azure and AWS platforms.
  • Familiarity with GitLab and developer tools.
  • Knowledge of Remedy Incident and Change Management.
  • Experience in networking, cybersecurity, and automation.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of DevSecOps practices and Zero Trust architecture principles.
  • Knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $104,000 - $129,000 annually, based on experience, education, and relevant certifications.
