Position Title: Mid Cloud Security Engineer

Location: Multiple locations available

Relocation Assistance: Not applicable

Remote/Telework: Not available for this role

Clearance Type: DoD Secret

Shift: Day shift (Monday to Friday)

Travel Requirements: Up to 10% of the time

Key Responsibilities:

The Mid Cloud Security Engineer plays a vital role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The selected candidate will:

  • Design, implement, and oversee cloud security frameworks and technologies.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Establish and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and protocols.
  • Monitor and address security incidents, conducting forensic analysis as necessary.
  • Perform regular security evaluations and vulnerability assessments on code utilizing SAST and DAST tools.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security best practices into DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Stay informed about the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and technological advancements.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, NIST Framework, ISO).
  • Implement and uphold encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and other security measures.
  • Provide guidance and training to various teams on cloud security best practices.
  • Participate in security audits and risk evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to cloud security configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Engage in multiple engineering and architecture meetings, serving as a technical expert across various IT domains related to Cloud and DevSecOps initiatives.
  • Execute modifications and upgrades as required.
  • Coordinate efforts with other departments and personnel to resolve incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • One of the following combinations of education and experience: High School Diploma (or GED) with 12 years of general experience; Associate's degree with 10 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree with 8 years of general experience; Master's degree with 6 years of general experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in roles such as software developer, application integration specialist, or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of experience in management or leadership positions.
  • A current DoD IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE Certification).
  • At least 1 commercially recognized Cloud certification.
  • An active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in systems administration/engineering managing Azure and AWS platforms.
  • Familiarity with GitLab.
  • Experience with developer and coding tools.
  • Knowledge of Remedy Incident and Change Management.
  • Background in networking, cybersecurity, and automation.
  • Experience with DevSecOps processes.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of DevSecOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture principles.
  • Knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations.
