Department Overview:
The N112 Special Projects Department collaborates closely with government sponsors in the realms of space warfare, acquisition, and other mission partners. Our focus is on integrating new technologies and software applications to support a resilient space enterprise infrastructure and an integrated command and control system.

We engage in various sensing experiments and prototyping activities, leveraging advanced modeling, simulation, and analytical capabilities to support both MITRE and sponsor-driven research across multiple space mission domains.

The outcomes of our efforts provide comprehensive insights for senior government decision-makers, shaping the future of national space policy, operations, and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:

  • Design and implement DevSecOps processes to automate software delivery within a cloud-based environment, ensuring product security and compliance with government standards.
  • Develop a strategic cloud computing roadmap that aligns with the sponsor's vision, engaging a diverse stakeholder base.
  • Lead initiatives to integrate cyber operations capabilities with space mission systems.
  • Provide expert guidance in digital transformation and modern AWS cloud capabilities to achieve scalable and resilient systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective architectural designs.
  • Engage with project leadership to maximize sponsor value and ensure the technical integrity of deliverables.
  • Participate in strategic decision-making with government leadership regarding technical investments and initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance and eligibility for access to classified information.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud architecture and management, particularly in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
  • Hands-on experience in Software Architecture and DevSecOps/DevOps, with a focus on systems engineering and IT solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, Rust, or Go.

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • Expertise in Software Architecture, AWS Cloud, DevOps/DevSecOps, or Defensive Cyber Operations.
  • Familiarity with government partner missions.
  • Experience with Microsoft's Azure cloud solutions.
  • Advanced degrees in computer science or related fields.
  • TS/SCI level security clearance with program access eligibility.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
