About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Cloud Architect to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Software Infrastructure group, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and integrating cloud infrastructure services on Linux-based operating systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine solutions that align with technical standards, timelines, and budgets.
  • Investigate and present technology solutions to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Design and implement automation and orchestration solutions to streamline cloud infrastructure operations.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in existing solutions and develop strategies to address them.
  • Coordinate with the team to incorporate cyber-based solutions to the product and ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Collaborate across teams to define requirements and dependencies, and ensure infrastructure implementations meet contract requirements.
  • Use Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and processes to design and develop solutions, and leverage company and industry best practices to architect, develop, and implement modern cloud solutions.
Requirements
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued DOD-Secret clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) and ten (10+) years of systems engineering experience.
  • Experience architecting, designing, implementing, and integrating cloud infrastructure services on Linux-based operating systems.
  • Experience with containerization using technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Able to break down complex ideas into easy-to-understand tasking.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with implementing an on-prem cloud in VMware.
  • Experience working in a technical environment interfacing with systems or software engineering disciplines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Possess the ability to communicate technical and project information clearly and effectively to peers, management, and external associates.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ or ability to obtain within 90 days.
