POSITION SUMMARY

Voices of Hope – Lexington, Inc. is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on fostering recovery from substance use disorders. The Mobile Outreach Recovery Engagement (MORE) Assistant role is designed for individuals who will engage with vulnerable populations within our community. This includes individuals who may be struggling with substance use, experiencing homelessness, facing food insecurity, or living in underserved areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and nurture relationships with community partners and individuals seeking recovery support.
  • Assist the MORE Recovery Coach with logistical tasks, including van preparation, equipment setup and breakdown, and serving refreshments to those engaged.
  • Serve as a positive role model for both clients in recovery and team members, illustrating that recovery is a viable option.
  • Propose improvements to operational procedures and policies to enhance efficiency.
  • Act as an advocate for the organization by adhering to established policies and protocols.
  • Safeguard participant confidentiality and uphold operational integrity by maintaining discretion.
  • Demonstrate the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift items weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in the addiction recovery field.
  • Knowledge of local support services and resources related to recovery.
  • Adept at engaging individuals in various circumstances.
  • Proven ability to actively listen, ask insightful questions, and treat individuals with respect.
  • Understanding of appropriate boundaries in professional relationships.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and cross-cultural competencies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Bilingual abilities are advantageous.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with no medical restrictions affecting driving.
  • A minimum of five years of driving experience with a clean driving record.
  • Completion of a Motor Vehicle Release Form is necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
  • This role involves working outdoors and from a mobile unit.
  • Must be a proactive, solution-oriented team player.
  • Evening and weekend availability may be necessary.
  • Completion of I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification is required.
  • A background check will be conducted (prior convictions may not disqualify an applicant).

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Reliable transportation is essential for this position.
