ROLE OVERVIEW

The Mobile Outreach Recovery Assistant will play a vital role in connecting with vulnerable populations within our community. This includes individuals who may be actively using substances, experiencing homelessness, or living in underserved areas. The position involves outreach efforts to engage these individuals and provide them with necessary resources and support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Travel to establish and nurture relationships with community partners and individuals seeking recovery support.
  • Assist the Recovery Coach in preparing the outreach vehicle, including stocking supplies and setting up equipment at various locations.
  • Model recovery principles for both clients and staff, showcasing that recovery is attainable.
  • Propose improvements to operational procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Advocate for the organization by adhering to established policies and protocols.
  • Ensure confidentiality of participant information to maintain trust and protect operations.
  • Ability to remain mobile, standing or sitting for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift items weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in the addiction recovery field.
  • Knowledge of local support services and recovery resources.
  • Ability to engage individuals in their current circumstances.
  • Strong active listening skills and the ability to ask insightful questions.
  • Understanding of maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and cross-cultural skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both in individual and group settings.
  • Strong customer service orientation is essential.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with no significant health restrictions.
  • A minimum of five years of driving experience with a clean driving record.
  • Completion of a Motor Vehicle Release Form is necessary.
  • Ability to work outdoors and from a mobile outreach vehicle.
  • Must be a proactive, solution-oriented team player.
  • Evening and weekend availability may be necessary.
  • Completion of I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification is required.
  • Must pass a background check (prior convictions may not disqualify an applicant).

WORKING HOURS

  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Reliable transportation is mandatory.
