The role requires the production of detailed acoustic modeling evaluations and the creation of visual representations and studies illustrating threat intelligence.

The candidate will be responsible for drafting both formal and informal intelligence reports and presentations, communicating findings to ONI analysts, leadership, and various national and theater stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

The daily responsibilities for this position include: Performing acoustic modeling assessments of foreign naval and non-naval systems, evaluating their capabilities within specific geographic areas of responsibility (AORs).

Utilizing scientific and all-source analytical techniques to address moderately complex S&TI challenges related to undersea sensor capabilities and performance.

Employing commercial software, including MATLAB and proprietary applications like PCIMAT, to conduct modeling evaluations.

Executing acoustic modeling threat assessments and delivering findings in written, tabular, and graphical formats for integration into the Division's threat assessments and mission support documentation as required.

Conducting multiple Transmission Loss model simulations to analyze various source or receiver configurations and performance metrics. Performing seasonal or monthly assessments to evaluate temporal effects on operations.

Serving as the principal acoustic expert in support of the Threat Assessment Division, providing specialized Acoustic Intelligence (ACINT) support to fellow analysts.

Monitoring available blue signature data to ensure vulnerability assessments are based on the most accurate and current signatures.

Ensuring comprehensive understanding of signature data across the entire frequency spectrum monitored by all foreign acoustic systems, both mobile and stationary.

Evaluating acoustic modeling software to validate results and recommending updates to existing models or additional acquisitions.

Collaborating with acoustic analysts from other ONI departments to confirm assessments.
Maintaining current and historical acoustic threat data repositories and making necessary entries into the Department's production databases.
Providing on-demand support to the Department's 24/7 operational watch.
The candidate will represent ONI within the Intelligence Community and other relevant forums.

Identifying critical intelligence gaps impacting the Navy and collaborating with other analysts and collectors to develop strategies for addressing information deficiencies.

Contributing to both short-term tasks and long-term analytical studies.
Coordinating acoustic analytical efforts with internal and external organizations.
Working alongside other ONI intelligence professionals to plan and organize analytical research initiatives. Presenting findings to naval operators and intelligence community counterparts regarding regional acoustic threat assessments and mission support materials.

As a Senior Acoustic Modeling Specialist for Leidos supporting ONI's Threat Assessments Division, the candidate will demonstrate leadership by providing analytical oversight in the following ways:
Ensuring analytic quality control and providing constructive feedback on assignments through sound technical guidance, direction, and support to colleagues.
Exhibiting awareness of all security protocols related to the role and understanding ONI command policies and security measures.

Demonstrating the ability to make timely and effective decisions while producing results through proper planning and execution of programs and policies.

Exhibiting the capacity to articulate, advocate, and convey facts and ideas persuasively when engaging with individuals and groups both within and outside the organization, in both oral and written formats.

Fostering a work environment that promotes creativity and independent thought.
