Position Overview

Bashor Children's Home is on the lookout for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to become part of a remarkable team of professional youth care specialists within our secure treatment facilities designed for young individuals.

This role is particularly suited for candidates who:

  • Possess experience in direct engagement with at-risk or emotionally distressed youth.
  • Are motivated by a desire to guide adolescents towards positive life choices, steering them away from incarceration or gang involvement.
  • Aspire to serve as constructive role models for teenagers who may have faced challenges such as homelessness, abuse, addiction, or community violence.
  • Have a keen interest in expanding their knowledge about trauma-informed practices, substance abuse interventions, and skill development.
  • Seek practical experience prior to pursuing a Master of Social Work (MSW), counseling qualifications, or law enforcement training.
  • Are considering or actively pursuing a degree in fields such as criminal justice, social work, psychology, or human services.
  • Are veterans of the military looking to provide mentorship to youth.
  • Have a passion for physical fitness, coaching, and youth mentoring.
  • Are recognized for their positive, strengths-based, and solution-oriented approach.
  • Can foster team spirit and contribute to the establishment of a supportive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required (preference and salary adjustments available for those holding or pursuing a bachelor's degree).
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record that meets agency standards.
  • Completion of a pre-employment background check, physical examination, and drug screening will be necessary, including a TB test.

Work Schedule: Second Shift, commencing at 1:30 PM and concluding at 10 PM.

Compensation: Starting salary of $21.41 per hour, commensurate with education and experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
