About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Practitioner to join our team at Augusta University. As a Clinical Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare services to our patients, with a focus on ambulatory care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic medical services, including evaluating and treating general medical and health needs of patients.
  • Monitor quality improvement programs related to patient care.
  • Work under the general direction of the Lead Nurse and the clinical direction of the Physician.
Requirements
  • Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant in the State of Georgia.
  • 2 years of previous experience in a clinical setting, with a preference for 1 year of experience in a correctional setting.
  • Good organizational and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must relate well to patients, security staff, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Functions within the Georgia Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act (Nurse Practitioners) and Georgia Composite Medical Board Rules (Physician Assistants).
  • Must have current Health Care Provider BCLS Certification, obtained through American Heart or Red Cross Program.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs, with normal bending, reaching, stooping, standing, and sitting for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to move quickly in cases of emergency (within 4 minutes).
  • Normal levels of hearing and seeing, with corrective appliances if necessary.
  • Must be able to perform BCLS.
  • Security Clearance by the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.
