Position Overview
The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is actively seeking a clinical faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The department aims to enhance its gynecologic oncology services by adding a full-time Gynecologic Oncology Attending. This role is not on a tenure track.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive gynecologic oncologic care, including chemotherapy, surgical interventions, and management of intricate clinical cases.
- Deliver gynecologic surgical services, employing minimally invasive techniques, including the da Vinci surgical system.
- Offer support and consultation to general OBGYN practitioners, particularly for challenging benign gynecologic surgical cases.
- Possess experience in radiotherapy for gynecologic malignancies.
- Supervise and educate residents and medical students.
- Engage in ambulatory, inpatient, and telehealth clinical care.
Essential Qualifications
Candidates must possess a medical degree, have completed an accredited residency in obstetrics and gynecology, and have successfully finished an approved fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology. Additionally, candidates should have or be eligible for Georgia medical licensure and subspecialty certification by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Expertise in robotic surgery for oncologic procedures is required.
Assistant Professor- Entry-level faculty member with suitable postgraduate training.
Associate Professor- Mid-level faculty member with a minimum of five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent training and experience.
Professor- Senior-level faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training and experience.
All faculty employment qualifications for USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions must align with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements for institutional accreditation, including:
- Demonstrated teaching ability;
- Evidence of scholarly activity and competence in all assigned duties;
- Successful experience (waived for those entering the academic profession who meet all other criteria); and,
- Desirable personal attributes assessed through interviews, biographical data, and recommendations.
Work Schedule, Compensation, and Benefits
This position operates on a fiscal year basis and requires year-round commitment.
The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0, classified as full-time.
Compensation for Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor ranks is commensurate with education, experience, and accomplishments, subject to availability of funds.
Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, 13 paid holidays, vacation leave, sick leave, generous retirement plans, tuition waiver, wellness options, and more.
Additionally, full-time employees who have been with the institution for over six months may be eligible for the Tuition Assistance Program.
Rank and salary are determined at the time of hire based on various factors, including experience, education, credentials, specialty, and training, while also considering internal equity and market data.

Department Overview
The Medical College of Georgia is one of the largest medical schools in the nation by class size, accommodating 260 students per class.
