Job Title: Executive Chef

Job Summary:

Crowne Plaza Virginia Beach, VA is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. As a key member of our hotel management team, the Executive Chef will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing all food and beverage operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food and Beverage Operations:
    • Plan, manage, and execute all food and beverage operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
    • Develop and implement menus, recipes, and food presentation standards to meet hotel standards.
    • Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as hotel standards and policies.
  • Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage kitchen budgets, including food, labor, and supplies.
    • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and inventory levels.
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives and menu engineering to optimize profitability.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead and motivate kitchen staff to achieve exceptional guest experiences and hotel standards.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Communicate effectively with hotel management, staff, and guests to ensure seamless operations.
    • Collaborate with other hotel departments, including front office, sales, and marketing.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in executive chef or senior chef role.
  • Proven track record of success in food and beverage operations, including menu development, kitchen management, and staff leadership.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, cost control, and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
