Role Summary

As a Configuration Management Specialist, you will be integral to our organization, focusing on the establishment and upkeep of robust configuration management practices. Your expertise will be vital in guaranteeing the stability, dependability, and scalability of our technological systems and applications. You will collaborate with various teams to enhance the configuration management lifecycle, ensuring the seamless and efficient delivery of software and infrastructure modifications.

Key Responsibilities
* Formulate and execute configuration management strategies, policies, and protocols to ensure dependable software and infrastructure deployments.
* Partner with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to establish and uphold configuration management standards.
* Design and oversee configuration management tools, systems, and processes to automate the deployment, configuration, and oversight of software and infrastructure components.
* Lead the identification, tracking, and management of configuration items, including software, hardware, documentation, and associated assets.
* Administer and sustain configuration management databases (CMDB) and version control systems to effectively monitor and manage changes.
* Implement and maintain automated build, release, and deployment pipelines utilizing tools such as Jenkins, Git, or other industry-standard solutions.
* Monitor and evaluate configuration management metrics to pinpoint areas for enhancement and ensure adherence to established standards.
* Conduct routine audits to verify the accuracy and completeness of configuration management data and documentation.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot configuration-related challenges and provide technical assistance as necessary.
* Stay informed about emerging configuration management technologies, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience as a Configuration Management Specialist or in a comparable role.
* Strong grasp of configuration management principles and best practices.
* Familiarity with configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or SaltStack.
* Experience with CMDB databases like Service Now.
* Proficiency in scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
* Understanding of version control systems, such as Git, SVN, or TFS.
* Solid knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools, such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
* Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
* Attention to detail and effective task prioritization.

Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
* Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes.
* Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
* Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
* Relevant certifications, such as Certified Configuration Manager (CCM) or ITIL Foundation.
