Position Overview:

The Behavioral Support Facilitator will offer comprehensive classroom assistance and follow-up for students who have benefited from services provided by Behavior Outreach Specialists.

Objective:


The Behavioral Support Facilitator will observe and exemplify evidence-based behavioral intervention strategies as recommended by Behavior Outreach Specialists. This role is essential in ensuring that interventions are executed with fidelity and that students with challenging behaviors receive equitable opportunities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct assistance to educators by introducing and demonstrating research-based interventions.
  • Support students by teaching and modeling effective behavioral strategies and curriculum.
  • Collaborate with Behavior Specialists and school personnel to implement behavioral curriculum.
  • Develop transition plans and provide support for students moving between educational environments.
  • Work with Behavior Specialists and school staff to create effective intervention strategies.
  • Assist in the development of crisis and safety plans in collaboration with Behavior Specialists and school staff.
  • Implement interventions to help students remain in school and stabilize their behavior.
  • Deliver behavioral curriculum to students receiving homebound services.
  • Monitor attendance and suspension data for students.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Equipment Utilization:

  • Utilize standard office equipment, including personal computers and copiers.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel between schools or between schools and central offices may be necessary for certain roles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow written or oral instructions effectively.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations to assist students.
  • Competence in using personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding students and staff.
  • Capacity to build supportive relationships with students with special needs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and others.
  • Skill in reporting work orally or in writing as required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work Environment:

  • Work is conducted in standard office and school environments.
  • Ability to work outdoors during student activities is required.

Compensation:

Starting Salary:
According to State Salary Scale

Local Supplement: 4%

Membership in the State Health Plan

Membership in the State Retirement System

FLSA Status:
Non-exempt

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of 48 hours of transferable college-level coursework as mandated by Federal regulations.
  • Previous experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
