Position Overview

Blue Ridge Community Health Services is actively seeking a Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) Therapist to join our dedicated Behavioral Health Team.

Incentives:
Newly appointed Therapists/Behavioral Health Service Providers may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000.00, contingent upon the selected service agreement, with options for 1, 2, or 3-year contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

The SAIOP Therapist plays a vital role within a treatment team, delivering both group and individual therapy sessions. Responsibilities encompass:
  • Leading morning and evening therapy groups, including sessions on holidays
  • Providing gender-specific information and services under the guidance of the SAIOP team leader
  • Assisting with the intake process, including orientations to SAIOP, person-centered planning, and crisis/enhanced planning
  • Facilitating skill-building during individual sessions focused on relapse prevention, recovery planning, managing triggers and cravings, harm reduction, self-care, and parenting skills
  • Contributing to the planning and organization of group curriculum
  • Supporting drug screening efforts and coordinating with other stakeholders involved in client care
Qualifications:
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor required (fully or provisionally licensed or license eligible)
  • Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist required (fully or provisionally licensed or license eligible)
  • Preferred: 2 years of clinical work experience
  • Availability for extended hours on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with Tuesday and Thursday off
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • Bilingual candidates are a plus
