As a Strategic Accounts Manager at United Rentals, you will take charge of managing and serving as the primary liaison for key accounts within a designated district, region, or cluster of branches. This pivotal role is designed to enhance our market presence and expand our strategic account clientele. You may also oversee significant projects or engage in the pursuit of major opportunities.

In your capacity as the main contact for our strategically vital large clients, you will utilize your sales expertise to thoroughly comprehend and anticipate the requirements of these essential customers, addressing their needs promptly and professionally. Your strategic insight will not only propel our growth but also foster your professional success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing strategic accounts and their affiliated companies in your area, serving as the primary point of contact for your clients.
  • Conduct and present formal business reviews to decision-makers and senior sales executives of strategic account companies.
  • Identify and pursue large projects involving strategic account customers; direct leads to branch sales representatives.
  • Identify and qualify new strategic accounts from existing branch accounts, dormant or non-customer accounts, including those of competitors.
  • Leverage Sales and other CRM tools to enhance productivity.
  • Collaborate closely with Outside Sales Representatives and National Account Managers to drive revenue for national accounts and branches, in addition to your assigned strategic accounts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of sales experience, ideally in branch or sales management, with a focus on large accounts or internal company sales representative experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to travel up to 70% of the time within the assigned territory.
  • Strong orientation towards customer service.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, negotiation, and research skills.
  • Ability to work independently and a strong motivation to succeed, even in the face of challenges.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of utilizing technology tools to enhance performance efficiency.
  • Familiarity with sales data tools such as FW Dodge.
