Job Overview

As a Support Services Specialist at Open Systems Healthcare, you will engage in a fulfilling role dedicated to assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

1. **Delivering Quality Support:**
- Ensure the provision of high-quality and secure in-home assistance.

2. **Individualized Support Services:**
- Provide tailored day support, small group habilitation, and behavioral support services in accordance with company policies.

3. **Implementation of Support Plans:**
- Execute individual support plans (ISP) and care strategies.

4. **Building Relationships:**
- Cultivate positive and collaborative relationships with clients, their families, and team members.

5. **Assisting with Daily Activities:**
- Aid individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) based on their ISP and specific needs, including:
- **Personal Care:**
- Assistance with bathing, eating, dressing, hygiene, and mobility.
- **Transportation:**
- Facilitate community travel, including medical appointments and errands.
- **Household Management:**
- Support with cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
- **Companionship:**
- Engage in social interaction, conversation, and shared activities.

6. **Skill Development:**
- Help individuals develop and maintain skills to achieve their ISP goals, promoting independence and community integration.

7. **Crisis Management:**
- Address challenging behaviors with professionalism and be prepared to manage crisis situations.

8. **Behavioral Documentation:**
- Implement behavioral treatment plans and accurately document observations and progress.

9. **Safety and Compliance:**
- Maintain a safe environment using Universal Precautions and report any incidents or behavioral changes promptly.

10. **Professional Development:**
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Proof of high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Successful completion of orientation and training programs.
- Effective communication skills in English, with accommodations as necessary.
- Evidence of annual Tuberculosis screening.
- Reliable transportation.

Preferred Skills

- One year of relevant experience or education in Human or Social Services.
- Advocacy experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Familiarity with local public transportation and community resources.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

Working Conditions

- Physical tasks may involve lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
