Position Overview:

The Development Associate role at Brown University Sports Foundation involves providing comprehensive administrative assistance to fundraising professionals. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities including organizing meetings and travel, managing gift and pledge documentation, maintaining correspondence, overseeing proposal updates, and supporting event logistics.

This role also entails handling information technology tasks that assist fundraisers and collaborating closely with fellow development associates and fundraising personnel within the Division of Advancement.

Location: This position is based in Providence, RI.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in fundraising, development, sales, customer relations, higher education, or administrative roles.

Essential Skills:

  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize effectively.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work non-traditional hours.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with various audio/visual tools and presentation software.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in higher education, fundraising, or non-profit organizations is highly advantageous.
  • Strong project management and time management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, particularly Microsoft Office.
