Position Overview:

The Brown University Sports Foundation is seeking a Development Associate to provide comprehensive administrative assistance to our fundraising team. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including scheduling meetings, organizing travel, maintaining records of gifts and pledges, managing correspondence, supporting proposal development, and assisting with event logistics.

This position also involves handling information technology tasks that aid fundraisers and collaborating closely with fellow development associates and fundraising personnel within the Division of Advancement.

Location: This role is situated in Providence, RI.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in fundraising, development, sales, customer relations, higher education, or administrative roles.

Essential Skills:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in multitasking and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours when necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with various audio/visual and presentation tools.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in higher education, fundraising, or non-profit organizations is highly advantageous.
  • Strong project management and time management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, particularly Microsoft Office.
