About the Role

The Class Giving Associate is a key member of the Development team at InsideHigherEd, responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors to support the organization's mission. This role requires a strong understanding of fundraising principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate and Solicit Donors: Identify, research, and engage with potential donors to secure support for InsideHigherEd's programs and initiatives.
  • Steward Donor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing donors, ensuring their needs are met and their contributions are recognized.
  • Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategies: Collaborate with the Development team to design and execute fundraising campaigns, events, and solicitations.
  • Manage Donor Data and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records, track progress, and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.
  • Support Development Team: Assist in the planning and execution of development events, campaigns, and other initiatives.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Tools and Technologies: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, donor management software, and other relevant tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Higher Education or Non-Profit Sector: Familiarity with the inner workings of higher education institutions or non-profit organizations.
  • Database Management: Experience with donor management software and data analysis.
  • Event Planning: Ability to plan and execute successful events and campaigns.
