Job Responsibilities

The Commonwealth of Virginia is looking for a dedicated professional to join our team as a full-time Financial Administration and Services Supervisor. This role is crucial in providing administrative oversight and resource management to ensure adherence to all relevant state and federal regulations, laws, and executive orders.

This position will report directly to the Finance Director and will be responsible for:

  1. Overseeing the management of state and federal grant budgets and financial reporting processes in alignment with directives from agency leadership and relevant federal grantor agencies.
  2. Coordinating financial reporting activities for the agency, including essential submissions to central agencies, forecasting, analysis, and recommendations based on established guidelines.
  3. Ensuring compliance with federal requirements in the administration of all agency grants and contracts.
  4. Managing reconciliation processes for all financial transactions in accordance with state and federal policies.
  5. Supervising staff to guarantee that budget management, financial reporting, grants administration, and reconciliation tasks are executed according to agency and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • Extensive knowledge of budget development, financial reporting, and federal grant administration.
  • Experience in fiscal and accounting activities within a governmental or financial context.
  • Proficiency in using database systems, automated spreadsheets, and word processing software.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial regulations and prepare detailed reports.
  • Ability to assist agency personnel with financial inquiries and supervise staff effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Additional Considerations

Preferred candidates may have:

  • Knowledge of systems such as Cardinal and PBS.
  • Experience in conducting internal audits and supporting risk management initiatives.

Special Requirements:

Applicants must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license and meet the minimum duty requirements for the position. The selected candidate will undergo a criminal background investigation and must complete an annual Statement of Personal Economic Interests.
