Job Summary

The Virginia Department of Emergency Management is seeking a highly skilled Grants Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our Grants Division, you will play a critical role in planning, allocating, and monitoring federal funding to localities and state agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and allocate federal funding to localities and state agencies
  • Provide technical assistance and consultation regarding grants programs
  • Develop resources, policies, and procedures for disaster-related grants
  • Conduct site visits and ensure compliance with grant rules and regulations
  • Support the Infrastructure Branch Director during operations at the Joint Field Office, as needed
Requirements
  • Considerable working knowledge of grant management, accounting, business management, and department administration
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting policies and procedures
  • Experience reading and interpreting grant guidelines and contracts; and/or preparing budgets and monitoring fiscal actions
  • Ability to provide technical assistance to localities and state agencies
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), customer service skills, organizational skills, and decision-making skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of post-disaster recovery programs
