Introduction:

We are in search of a proactive and results-driven Strategic National Account Executive to manage our current retail and distributor partnerships while pursuing new business ventures in the wild bird seed and poultry feed markets. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of our offerings and excel in cultivating robust customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Execution

Key Account Management – cultivate and sustain relationships with existing retail and distributor partners, ensuring exceptional customer service. Formulate and execute annual account/sales strategies for each major account in alignment with the company's overarching goals. Identify sales prospects, analyze market dynamics, and remain informed on competitor activities to refine sales strategies. Develop tailored strategies for accounts to drive sales growth, enhance market presence, and surpass revenue objectives. Conduct regular visits within the designated territory to engage with both existing and potential customers, dedicating up to 35% of time to this effort. Present innovative ideas for new products or programs customized to meet specific customer requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of sales objectives and execution plans. Implement pricing adjustments as dictated by market conditions. Manage a diverse product range, overseeing inventory levels to ensure product availability and timely order fulfillment.

Territory Management and Customer Relationships

Establish and nurture strong, enduring customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs, including key accounts, retailers, distributors, and brokers. Expand upon existing relationships and cultivate new customer connections within the assigned channel. Manage relationships and agreements with brokers and distributors effectively. Collaborate with inside sales representatives to maintain current account activities and promotional materials. Monitor accounts receivable for the customer portfolio, investigating any discrepancies or delayed payments. Provide estimated delivery dates to customers based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules. Continuously seek to expand the customer base and identify new business opportunities to enhance market penetration.

Experience:

A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in retail sales or account management, ideally within the seed or grain sales, wild bird seed, or poultry feed sectors. A Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or equivalent work experience. A proven history of success in national account management, achieving revenue growth, and fostering strong customer relationships. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, utilized to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. A results-oriented mindset with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Exceptional negotiation, sales, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Strong analytical and financial selling skills, with the ability to forge business partnerships that facilitate closing sales. Highly organized with outstanding time management skills to effectively handle multiple priorities. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and capable of learning internal ERP systems.
