Position Overview

This role focuses on the strategic acquisition of goods and services essential for the production and distribution of Doosan Bobcat offerings. The scope includes indirect procurement items such as business services (Human Resources, Marketing, IT Solutions, etc.).

The Category Leader is accountable for managing a designated category of products or services within the company. This includes formulating and executing category strategies aimed at enhancing business performance and optimizing expenditures.

The individual will maintain designated accounts and collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality, pricing, and timely delivery that meet the expectations of Doosan Bobcat.



Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Management:

  • Oversee the strategic development of assigned suppliers.
  • Stay informed about market dynamics and changes within the supplier's organization that could impact our partnership.
  • Experience in managing a specific commodity is essential.

New Product Development Support:

  • Assist the organization in all new product development initiatives and value analysis/value engineering projects.
  • Ensure that comprehensive product launch strategies are established during the New Product Development phases, including aftermarket considerations.

Strategic Planning:

  • Formulate Commodity strategies.
  • Align and implement these strategies effectively.

Project Assistance:

  • Facilitate project completion while providing mentorship.
  • Support projects on cross-functional teams.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • Exhibit adaptability to change and proactively seek solutions while aligning with management.
  • Ability to create business cases by synthesizing forecast trends into actionable strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the assigned Commodity.
  • Build a solid reputation for achieving results and establishing credibility.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure when addressing challenges.
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Effectively communicate with all levels within the organization as necessary for the role and escalate issues to sourcing leadership when required.
  • Provide business updates and supplier performance reports to management.



Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Experience: Approximately 2+ years in a relevant field.
  • A degree in Supply Chain may substitute for experience.
  • Travel: 20-40% travel required, including occasional global travel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels, from shop floor personnel to senior executives.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in making decisions after evaluating various options.
  • Possess leadership qualities that enable the commodity manager to influence others to accept and implement action plans.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
